I don’t know about you, but my skin always gets super dry in the winter months. As a teacher, we are constantly washing our hands (especially these days) so my hands usually get the worst of it, but sometimes my face and body can suffer as well. Since this is a problem that I felt many people suffer from, I decided that I wanted to share a few tips with you that I found to help your skin in the winter months. Here are 5 Tips that I found to winterproof your skin.
5 Tips to Winterproof Your Skin
I found these tips online and decided to share them with you.
1) Keep Your Thermostat Cool and Comfortable
When you crank up the heat, it will dry out the air in your home and as a result dry out your skin. The American Osteopathic College of Dermatology recommends that you keep your themostat set at 68 to 75 degrees F.
2) Use lukewarm water for handwashing and bathing
As tempting as it can be to use hot water to wash your hands or bathe, the warmer the water is, the drier your skin will get. It is best to use a lukewarm temperature. This goes for washing your face as well.
3) Moisturize when your skin is still a little damp
When you moisturize while your skin is still slightly damp, it will lock in the moisture to your skin.
4) Moisturize your lips
Our lips can be one of the first things to dry out. It’s important to keep them moisturized with your favorite lip balm.
5) Keep your hands moisturized
With constant handwashing, you will want to keep a good hand cream nearby. Each time you wash your hands, pat them dry (because it is less irrating then rubbing them dry) and apply your hand cream. I always try to keep one in my bag especially in the winter months.

I also really love the Skin So Soft Soft & Sensual Gelled Body Oil, particularly after shaving my legs.

About Amanda Davis
Mission Statement: My mission is to empower others to be their best selves both by serving customers to find products that make them feel beautiful inside and out and through mentoring other Avon Representatives both on and off my team to success in their own businesses.
A little more about me: I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and still live locally. I have my Masters in Teaching for Early and Elementary Education and I am an early childhood educator. I have been teaching since 2012. I joined Avon in August 2011 in order to earn an income around going to college full time. When I first joined Avon, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I had never heard of direct sales. My mother had actually been an Avon Representative briefly before I was born and she shared some about the company with me and said that I should go for it! I met with my mentor and she signed me up and the rest is history! Over the last several years, Avon has become a major passion of mine and I have enjoyed being able to share Avon and its products and missions with those around me. Throughout the years, I have been honored to receive several awards and recognition related to my Avon business. I do not have a family yet, but my hope is that when I decide to start one I can use Avon as a source of income in order to stay at home with my children when they are small like my mom stayed home with me and my brother until we both were in school.
