It’s the new normal. Living paycheck to paycheck. As much as you hear it isn’t good to do, it is hard to pull yourself out of that hole. Even if you don’t live “above” your means as so many people that don’t live paycheck to paycheck try to claim you are doing, you still cannot make ends meet with your basic needs of housing, food, gas, etc. Here is the thing. In today’s society our necessities are more than just the dry bones basic of somewhere to live, transportation (because you won’t easily get employed without it), health insurance including dental and vision in addition to your basic insurance, food, clothes, and water. We live in a society where it is necessary to have a cell phone and be reachable at all times as well as to have internet access on the regular even if it isn’t in your home. Can you cut down on some expenses when you see you aren’t really using something (cable…), sure, but some things are easier said then done when it comes to cutting expenses. The reality is basic cost of living costs more than most people bring in with their full time jobs. Every day people are getting second and third jobs to make ends meet. Our time spent at work is increasing every day and we are spending less and less time with our loved ones because we are having to work. No matter your story, please know you are not alone.

I too have worked full time only to realize my paycheck wasn’t going to cover all of my expenses. In fact, my paycheck with a Master’s degree wouldn’t even cover my rent, electric bill, and utilities minus anything extra. When that was the case, the little extra I made from Avon helped me buy groceries, pay for gas, and have just enough extra to pay a certain bill like the electric bill. When I started Avon in 2011, my only “why” was to make a little extra money around going to college full time. Then, as I graduated and eventually broke out on my own, Avon has become an additional source of income. When I am not working my full time job, I am working Avon. I am out there finding customers and searching for team members and most importantly building my business and even more importantly building relationships, making new friends, and meeting new people. Lunch breaks, evenings, and weekends are spent on Avon. This is by choice mind you. That’s the beauty of Avon. You set your goals and you decide the time and effort you will put into this business. You get back what you put into it. Your success is defined by you. My ultimate goal is to build my Avon business into a full time business. When I see the representatives out there that are at the top, working Avon as their primary job, they motivate me to be them. So what does this have to do with helping with getting out of the hole of working paycheck to paycheck? Reality is the only way to truly work towards the goal of getting out of living paycheck to paycheck is to find an additional stream of income. The great thing about Avon is unlike other second jobs, you decide when you will work. You work Avon around your schedule. You can work Avon with your family.

About Amanda Davis – My Avon Story
I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and still live locally. I have my Masters in Teaching for Early and Elementary Education and I am an early childhood teacher. I joined Avon in August 2011 in order to earn an income around going to college full time. When I first joined Avon, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I had never heard of direct sales. My mother had actually been an Avon Representative briefly before I was born and she shared some about the company with me and said that I should go for it! I met with my upline sales leader and she signed me up and the rest is history! Over the last several years, Avon has become a major passion of mine and I have enjoyed being able to share Avon and it’s products and missions with those around me.In 2013, I took an interest in expanding my online Avon business and since then I have been blogging and growing my Social Media presence. Avon is truly loved by many and when you start sharing that online you can really see the love and support from others worldwide. Even though we can only serve customers in the United States and share the Avon opportunity with those in the USA, worldwide followers will find you on Social Media and the web. In 2014, I was awarded the Spirit of Avon award and I earned the coveted President’s Club sales level and my first Mrs. P.F.E. Albee figurine. Mrs. P.F.E. Albee was the first Avon Lady back when David McConnell (Avon’s founder) had the California Perfume Company (which later became Avon Products). In 2016, Avon Products North America was bought out and thus New Avon, LLC was born. I have been super excited for the new changes of New Avon, LLC! I do not have a family yet, but my hope is that when I decide to start one I can use Avon as a source of income in order to stay at home with my children when they are small like my mom stayed home with me and my brother until we both were in school.
