Hello again! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Wow! It has been a long time (almost two years) since I posted on this blog. Truly, time just gets away from you. Who else cannot believe that today is January 1, 2022? I know I certainly am feeling a little bit of disbelief. As we move into the new year, I want to announce that I plan to be adding to the blog more frequently this year and also that yes, I am still an Avon Independent Sales Representative. In 2021, I celebrated Ten Years in business!

For those that might be new to me, let me start by reintroducing myself. My name is Amanda Davis and I am located in the state of Virginia in the United States. I joined Avon as an Independent Sales Representative in 2011 and I started this blog several years ago. When I came up with the name, Be the Best You Can Be Beauty Blog, it started with something that I have always strived for and that is to be the best person that I can be and of course the beauty aspect came into play with my beauty business. Since then, I have also branded myself as Amanda’s Beauty Alcove and that name came about because I wanted a fancy name for corner (Alcove), I knew my brand was Beauty (of course), and my name is Amanda.

At the time of writing this blog post, I am 32 years old, and I will turn 33 in April. In addition to working my Avon business, I am also an early childhood educator (currently working mostly with preschool age children). I am still striving to always be my best and it is my mission to help others to be their best and also to help others build their confidence and feel good about themselves. On a personal level, I also enjoy making an impact on the lives of others (hence being a teacher) and in the education world a lot of that initial impact starts with early childhood.

We all must remember that Beauty is not always about what is on the outside, but also about what is on the inside. Some of this comes about with your mindset, confidence, self care, etc. As we move into a New Year and me revamping this website and blog, I do plan to have some of my topics be related to mindset, self care, stress relief, etc. while still focusing on beauty topics such as skin care and makeup tips and things specific to Avon such as product reviews and information, the business opportunity, and tips for current Avon representatives and direct sellers. You may also notice some more posts like this one where I just pop in to say, “Hello!” and update you on my life.

Mission Statement: My mission is to empower others to be their best selves both by serving customers to find products that make them feel beautiful inside and out and through mentoring other Avon Representatives both on and off my team to success in their own businesses.

A little more about me: I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and still live locally. I have my Masters in Teaching for Early and Elementary Education and I am an early childhood educator. I have been teaching since 2012. I joined Avon in August 2011 in order to earn an income around going to college full time. When I first joined Avon, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I had never heard of direct sales. My mother had actually been an Avon Representative briefly before I was born and she shared some about the company with me and said that I should go for it! I met with my mentor and she signed me up and the rest is history! Over the last several years, Avon has become a major passion of mine and I have enjoyed being able to share Avon and its products and missions with those around me. Throughout the years, I have been honored to receive several awards and recognition related to my Avon business. I do not have a family yet, but my hope is that when I decide to start one I can use Avon as a source of income in order to stay at home with my children when they are small like my mom stayed home with me and my brother until we both were in school.
