How does Selling Avon Work?
When you start your own Avon business, you are signing up to be an Independent Sales Representative. What does this mean? You are not an employee of Avon or New Avon, but an individual who has agreed to Sell Avon Products as an Independent distributor or as we are known an Avon Representative. When you sign up you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions that are set forth in the Independent Avon Representative Contract. In this post I have included details on how being an Avon Representative works. I hope this post answers some of your questions and that you decide to start your own Avon journey! Feel free to comment on the post with any additional questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I start? All you have to do to start your own Avon business is to sign up online using the link and reference code adavis0493. In less than five minutes you can have your own Avon business started! The great thing about being an Avon Representative is that you can be successful with minimal materials so do not feel that you necessarily have to spend the most money to benefit the most.
What additional costs are associated with selling Avon? Avon does offer a free online store with no additional cost. The online store can be used alone to make your sales or in addition to your face to face sales. Business materials do cost additional money, but you decide how much you plan to spend on these materials. Be smart about it and plan your spending. Our brochures cost less than $7 for a ten pack and the more brochures you buy the less you spend per brochure. Each time you place an order you are charged a Shipping and Handling Fee based on your order size and when you are placing the order. We still have low shipping costs comparatively and this cost can be recouped from your customers when you charge a service fee. Most representatives charge $1 to $1.25 to each customer as a service fee. Customers understand when you explain this cost helps you cover shipping and delivery costs. Samples, demos, and additional sales tools will cost you additional money but are optional costs and again you decide how much extra you want to spend on these materials. When you first start out it is best to start small and only buy what you have to in order to keep your business going and growing.
How much can you make selling Avon? You can make money in three ways as an Avon Representative. The first way is by selling to face to face customers. The second way is selling online. The third way is by building your sales team by bringing on new representatives and mentoring them to success in their own businesses. Avon also offers incentives to representatives. You earn commission from your sales based on your representative status and order size. President’s Recognition Program Level starts at a minimum of $10,000 in sales for a cycle which runs from Campaign 1 to Campaign 26 each year.
How do I get paid? You will collect orders from customers and place the order with Avon. Once the order is placed Avon will bill you for the cost of the products and shipping. You will collect the current retail price for the products and sales tax (if applicable in your area) as well as the processing fee that you set from your customers. The money collected from customers – money you owe Avon = your profit. For online sales, Avon credits the commission to your Avon Account which shows as a negative credit on your account. It is negative because it is subtracted from the amount you currently owe Avon. You can setup for online commission to be direct deposited into your bank account, but this will only happen if you currently do not owe Avon any money and it only happens twice a month when the campaign closes. For leadership earnings, the funds are either sent to you on a prepaid card (once you get the card they will be credited to that same card) or direct deposited into your bank account twice a month if you have setup direct deposit.
Do I have to meet a sales quota? No, Avon does not require any sales quotas. This is fabulous because it provides you with more freedom in your business. However, do be advised that if you go four campaigns in a row without placing an order or receiving any online orders you will be placed in inactive status. It is important to either get customers regularly on your eStore or place orders every two weeks or every month in order to stay active.
Does Avon provide training? Yes, Avon offers training and you will also receive training opportunities from other representatives including your upline, mentor representative. As your mentor, I can point you in the right direction for trainings that I become aware of that are free as well as some that may cost money. Most trainings provided are free.

About Amanda Davis – My Avon Story
I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and still live locally. I have my Masters in Teaching for Early and Elementary Education and I am an early childhood teacher. I joined Avon in August 2011 in order to earn an income around going to college full time. When I first joined Avon, I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I had never heard of direct sales. My mother had actually been an Avon Representative briefly before I was born and she shared some about the company with me and said that I should go for it! I met with my upline sales leader and she signed me up and the rest is history! Over the last several years, Avon has become a major passion of mine and I have enjoyed being able to share Avon and it’s products and missions with those around me.In 2013, I took an interest in expanding my online Avon business and since then I have been blogging and growing my Social Media presence. Avon is truly loved by many and when you start sharing that online you can really see the love and support from others worldwide. Even though we can only serve customers in the United States and share the Avon opportunity with those in the USA, worldwide followers will find you on Social Media and the web. In 2014, I was awarded the Spirit of Avon award and I earned the coveted President’s Club sales level and my first Mrs. P.F.E. Albee figurine. Mrs. P.F.E. Albee was the first Avon Lady back when David McConnell (Avon’s founder) had the California Perfume Company (which later became Avon Products). In 2016, Avon Products North America was bought out and thus New Avon, LLC was born. I have been super excited for the new changes of New Avon, LLC! I do not have a family yet, but my hope is that when I decide to start one I can use Avon as a source of income in order to stay at home with my children when they are small like my mom stayed home with me and my brother until we both were in school.
